Spill Doctor along with many other companies and authorities, does not recommend venting of safety cabinets. We advice that you keep the vents plugged unless venting is absolutely necessary. Each Spill Doctor cabinet comes with 2′ NPT vent bungs. Vent bungs are there for cases when laws mandate venting.
For flammables:
Our vent bungs accommodate a 2″ NPT threaded steel pipe. Any venting device should be specified as safe for handling flammable fumes and should be setup to evacuate fumes from the cabinet using suction. Some authorities may require shut off vents to prevent drawing air and flames into the cabinet. Spill Doctor advises that you consult a professional engineer to design a ventilation system, communicated with local authorities, and advise accordingly.
For corrosives:
